Adhara is the second-brightest star in the constellation Canis Major and the twenty-second-brightest star in the night sky. It is a binary star system located about 430 light-years away from Earth.

Adhara has an apparent magnitude of 1.50 and consists of a blue giant star and a fainter companion star. It is one of the most luminous stars in the Milky Way.
