Aldebaran is the brightest star in the constellation Taurus and the fourteenth-brightest star in the night sky. It is a red giant star located about 65 light-years away from Earth.

With an apparent magnitude of 0.85, Aldebaran is one of the most prominent stars in the winter sky in the Northern Hemisphere. It is part of the Hyades star cluster.
