Sunspot AR 4493

Sunspot AR 4493 is a large, magnetically complex active region currently visible on the Sun’s surface. It contains 30 visible spots and spans an area of 300 millionths of the solar hemisphere. This region has produced 4 M-class flares so far and currently shows a 85% probability of C-class, 45% of M-class, and 5% of X-class flares. It is located at heliographic latitude N5°, Earth-facing longitude -5°, and Carrington longitude 157°.
