How to find IC1365 using Pegasus

This guide uses bright stars first, then narrows the field for a telescope or binocular finder. Use Pegasus as the main sky landmark.

Follow the route from one recognizable star to the next until you reach IC1365.

IC1365 is 52° above the horizon toward the southeast.

Begin with Pegasus, then follow the reference stars toward IC1365.

Recognize the characteristic star pattern of Pegasus before following the route.

Identify Enif in or near Pegasus; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Enif, move about 6.1° toward the southwest until you reach HYG 105570.0.

From HYG 105570.0, move about 2.4° toward the southwest until you reach Kitalpha.

From Kitalpha, move about 2.7° toward the south until you reach IC1365. This is the target field.
