How to find IC4402 using Scorpius

Begin with Scorpius, then follow the reference stars toward IC4402.

Recognize the characteristic star pattern of Scorpius before following the route.

Identify HYG 71860.0 in or near Scorpius; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From HYG 71860.0, move about 4.1° toward the west until you reach HYG 69996.0.

From HYG 69996.0, move about 0.4° toward the southeast until you reach IC4402. This is the target field.
