How to find M38 using Taurus

Begin with Taurus, then follow the reference stars toward M38.

Identify Elnath in or near Taurus; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Elnath, move about 5.9° toward the north until you reach HYG 25541.0.

From HYG 25541.0, move about 1.4° toward the north until you reach M38. This is the target field.
