How to find NGC1778 using Taurus

Begin with Taurus, then follow the reference stars toward NGC1778.

Identify Capella in or near Taurus; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Capella, move about 3.2° toward the south until you reach HYG 24738.0.

From HYG 24738.0, move about 4.4° toward the south until you reach HYG 24340.0.

From HYG 24340.0, move about 1.8° toward the southwest until you reach NGC1778. This is the target field.
