Center Miaplacidus in the finder or a low-power eyepiece before following the field stars.

From Miaplacidus, move about 1° toward the southwest until you reach HYG 44626.0.

From HYG 44626.0, move about 6.9° toward the southwest until you reach HYG 37504.0.

From HYG 37504.0, move about 6.4° toward the west until you reach HYG 29635.0.

From HYG 29635.0, move about 5.9° toward the west until you reach HYG 23467.0.

From HYG 23467.0, move about 0.4° toward the east until you reach NGC1848. This is the target field.
