How to find NGC2142 using Orion

Begin with Orion, then follow the reference stars toward NGC2142.

Identify Saiph in or near Orion; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Saiph, move about 3.6° toward the east until you reach HYG 28574.0.

From HYG 28574.0, move about 0° toward the east until you reach NGC2142. This is the target field.
