How to find NGC2402 using Gemini

Follow the route from one recognizable star to the next until you reach NGC2402.

NGC2402 is 12° above the horizon toward the east.

Begin with Gemini, then follow the reference stars toward NGC2402.

Recognize the characteristic star pattern of Gemini before following the route.

Identify Procyon in or near Gemini; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Procyon, move about 4.3° toward the northwest until you reach Gomeisa.

From Gomeisa, move about 1.6° toward the northeast until you reach NGC2402. This is the target field.
