Follow the route from one recognizable star to the next until you reach NGC2601.

NGC2601 is below the horizon at the selected time. No suitable observing time was found during the next two nights.

Miaplacidus

Center Miaplacidus in the finder or a low-power eyepiece before following the field stars.

From Miaplacidus, move about 3° toward the northwest until you reach HYG 42850.0.

From HYG 42850.0, move about 1.7° toward the west until you reach NGC2601. This is the target field.
