How to find NGC6249 using Scorpius

Begin with Scorpius, then follow the reference stars toward NGC6249.

Identify Sargas in or near Scorpius; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Sargas, move about 5° toward the west until you reach HYG 84033.0.

From HYG 84033.0, move about 2.3° toward the west until you reach NGC6249. This is the target field.
