How to find NGC6305 using Scorpius

Begin with Scorpius, then follow the reference stars toward NGC6305.

Recognize the characteristic star pattern of Scorpius before following the route.

Identify Atria in or near Scorpius; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Atria, move about 1.4° toward the north until you reach HYG 82539.0.

From HYG 82539.0, move about 6.3° toward the north until you reach HYG 83984.0.

From HYG 83984.0, move about 2.7° toward the north until you reach NGC6305. This is the target field.
