How to find NGC6802 using Cygnus

NGC6802 is 65° above the horizon toward the southwest.

Begin with Cygnus, then follow the reference stars toward NGC6802.

Recognize the characteristic star pattern of Cygnus before following the route.

Identify Altair in or near Cygnus; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Altair, move about 4.7° toward the north until you reach HYG 97139.0.

From HYG 97139.0, move about 6.9° toward the north until you reach HYG 96275.0.

From HYG 96275.0, move about 1.1° toward the northwest until you reach NGC6802. This is the target field.
