How to find NGC7040 using Pegasus

Begin with Pegasus, then follow the reference stars toward NGC7040.

Identify Enif in or near Pegasus; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Enif, move about 5.6° toward the west until you reach HYG 105431.0.

From HYG 105431.0, move about 2.5° toward the southwest until you reach NGC7040. This is the target field.
