How to find IC0388 using Orion

Follow the route from one recognizable star to the next until you reach IC0388.

IC0388 is 13° above the horizon toward the southeast.

Begin with Orion, then follow the reference stars toward IC0388.

Recognize the characteristic star pattern of Orion before following the route.

Identify Rigel in or near Orion; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Rigel, move about 6.9° toward the west until you reach HYG 22336.0.

From HYG 22336.0, move about 2.3° toward the southwest until you reach IC0388. This is the target field.
