How to find NGC1554 using Taurus

Follow the route from one recognizable star to the next until you reach NGC1554.

NGC1554 is 70° above the horizon toward the south.

Begin with Taurus, then follow the reference stars toward NGC1554.

Recognize the characteristic star pattern of Taurus before following the route.

Identify Aldebaran in or near Taurus; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Aldebaran, move about 3.2° toward the northwest until you reach Ain.

From Ain, move about 1.7° toward the west until you reach NGC1554. This is the target field.
