How to find NGC1832 using Orion

Follow the route from one recognizable star to the next until you reach NGC1832.

NGC1832 is 14° above the horizon toward the southeast.

Begin with Orion, then follow the reference stars toward NGC1832.

Recognize the characteristic star pattern of Orion before following the route.

Identify Rigel in or near Orion; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Rigel, move about 4.8° toward the south until you reach HYG 24327.0.

From HYG 24327.0, move about 2.8° toward the south until you reach NGC1832. This is the target field.
