How to find NGC2115A from Canopus

Follow the route from one recognizable star to the next until you reach NGC2115A.

NGC2115A is only 2° above the horizon, so the view is likely to be poor. No suitable observing time was found during the next two nights.

Canopus

Center Canopus in the finder or a low-power eyepiece before following the field stars.

From Canopus, move about 3.9° toward the west until you reach HYG 28484.0.

From HYG 28484.0, move about 1.6° toward the west until you reach NGC2115A. This is the target field.
