How to find NGC2194 using Orion

Follow the route from one recognizable star to the next until you reach NGC2194.

NGC2194 is 13° above the horizon toward the east.

Begin with Orion, then follow the reference stars toward NGC2194.

Recognize the characteristic star pattern of Orion before following the route.

Identify Alhena in or near Orion; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Alhena, move about 4.6° toward the west until you reach HYG 30099.0.

From HYG 30099.0, move about 2.4° toward the southwest until you reach NGC2194. This is the target field.
