How to find NGC2264 using Orion

Begin with Orion, then follow the reference stars toward NGC2264.

Identify Alhena in or near Orion; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Alhena, move about 6.6° toward the south until you reach HYG 31978.0.

From HYG 31978.0, move about 0° toward the west until you reach NGC2264. This is the target field.
