How to find NGC2141 using Orion

Follow the route from one recognizable star to the next until you reach NGC2141.

NGC2141 is 14° above the horizon toward the east.

Begin with Orion, then follow the reference stars toward NGC2141.

Recognize the characteristic star pattern of Orion before following the route.

Identify Betelgeuse in or near Orion; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Betelgeuse, move about 2.9° toward the northeast until you reach HYG 28614.0.

From HYG 28614.0, move about 0.8° toward the north until you reach NGC2141. This is the target field.
