How to find NGC2439 using Orion

Begin with Orion, then follow the reference stars toward NGC2439.

Recognize the characteristic star pattern of Orion before following the route.

Identify Aludra in or near Orion; the chart shows its position relative to the guide.

From Aludra, move about 2.2° toward the southeast until you reach HYG 36514.0.

From HYG 36514.0, move about 2.3° toward the east until you reach NGC2439. This is the target field.
